The results are out! Jovit Baldivino is the first winner Pilipinas Got Talent (1st edition). It is an international franchise adopted locally earloer this year.
Jovit Baldovino came from Southern Luzon. During the eliminations round of Pilipinas Got Talent, he was even able to make judge AiAi delas Alas teary-eyed with his spectacular performance.

Aside from pure talent, it’s quite obvious that physical presentation and looks do have weight in talent searches since this helps in the initial impression. And this was prevalent in auditioner Markki Stroem in the recent Pilipinas Got Talent audition telecasts.
Here is his audition video singing the Filipino song “Anak” (Child):
Markki Stroem is half Filipino with “Legaspi” as his middle name. Getting a three yes from the judges, we will see more of Markki Stroem in the next episodes of Pilipinas Got Talent.
The Southern Luzon auditions of Pilipinas Got Talent has had its share of disappointing performances but there are also a number which caught the attention of judges Kris Aquino at Fred Garcia.
One of which is 16-year old Jovit Baldivino. Moreover, this young man’s performance have made judge AiAi delas Alas come to tears.
Joining Pilipinas Got Talent‘s list of judges is Mr. Freddie Garcia and celebrity AiAi de las Alas.
Freddie Garcia of Pilipinas Got Talent
Freddie Garcia is ABS-CBN’s former President. FMG seems to be more serious.
“We’re looking for excellence,” replies Garcia after being asked what he is looking for as a judge of Pilipinas Got Talent.
Ai Ai delas alas on Pilipinas Got Talent
Ai-Ai, touted as Philippine’s ‘Comedy Queen,’ is expected to bring cheers and jeers from the judges’ table.Being jolly at heart and proven box office queen for many of her blockbuster movies, Ai-Ai added that
“Nasurprise ako and thankful ako kay God kasi maganda yung pasok ng 2010 (I was surprised and thankful to God for a good start for the year 2010),” (quoted from http://www.sunstar.com.ph)

Although initially reported to have backed out as host of Pilipinas Got Talent months ago, Kris Aquino has changed her mind and is coming back as one of the three judges of Pilipinas Got Talent.
I personally think that Kris Aquino would indeed be better off as a judge rather a host.
Being very vocal and opinionated, Kris Aquino may be more effective as a judge with her comments on the performers. I could just imagine her frank words towards the show participants. She woukld immediately quip if she liked what the contestants did, or otherwise.
While being a host, she could even upstage or outshine some of the performances. Knowing Kris Aquino, she might not be able to help it and eventually comment even as a host, hence, this was actually a good decision.
The latest edition of Pinoy Biig Brother has just been concluded a few days ago. It has served to be ABS-CBN‘s main reality show since the late of last year.

And now, Pilipinas Got Talent is being geared up to replace the vacant time slot left by the Pinoy Big Brother show on weekend primetime. With a powercast list of judges and show hosts, will Pilipinas Got Talent make up for the ratings during the high season of Pinoy Big Brother? Or maybe even surpass it?
I guess it will really depend on the show format of Pilipinas Got Talent and how the production handles the show itself.
Of course the quality of the performances, vis-a-vis the performers is of utmost importance. All else aside, we hope that Pilipinas Got Talent will showcase the true talent of the Filipino.
The months long anticipated Philippine talent show will start soon! It will showcase the best Filipino talents from the city to the countryside! Auditions were held around the country in the previous months. The show’s crew held auditions nationwide even to the far flung provinces of the Philippines. Participants and audition applicants came in huge numbers as talent centers got filled where participant-wannabees showcased their talents and abilities.
The most awaited talent show to hit Philipine television will start very soon! Pilipinas Got Talent!
The newest upcoming talent show in Philippine TV is about to start in a few month’s time and it’s called – Pilipinas Got Talent!
Airing in the number one television station in the Philippines, ABS-CBN, Pilipinas Got Talent is similar to the famous and highly successful America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent. It is a nationwide talent search contest in United Kingdom where the contestants show-off their skills and talents through performances and show. The ultimate winner eventually gets to perform for Prince Charles in the Royal Variety Show and evolve into superstars.
But it is not as easy as how the two previous sentences summarized it. The contestants wold have to pass auditions and the piercing commentaries from the judges and audience’s cheers and frills.
Performances can range from singing to dancing, comedic spiels to circus-like acts, and practically anything that’s entertaining and showcases one’s skill or talent.
For the upcoming local counterpart, we could only guess how ABS-CBN is going to handle the show or how it would present it. With the ultimate objective of gaining the grabbing the prime time top spot, we are guaranteed that the format will at least be interesting.
We can just hope that it would still be done in good taste – in a way that would truly showcase the Filipino talent.
Surely, the Pilipinas Got Talent show is another feather-in-cap for ABS-CBN, if handled well.
